Waxahatchee

"Under a Rock"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Feb 18, 2015

Katie Crutchfield is ready to release her next album as Waxahatchee this spring, but to ease the wait, she's shared Ivy Tripp cut "Under a Rock."

Showing off some indie rock chops, with a louder, fuller-sounding backing band than we're used to hearing her play with, Crutchfield's lyrics and vocals are still the star of the show — and still razor sharp.

The angsty garage rock tune manages to pack all of its punch into barely two minutes, so you've probably got the time to give it more than just one listen.

Ivy Tripp arrives on April 7 via Merge. Hit play below to hear "Under a Rock."
