Wax Mannequin Robbed in Calgary

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 29, 2011

Oh boy, here we go again. Just yesterday (July 28), we learned that Apollo Ghosts leader Adrian Teacher's gear had been stolen from a jam space in Sackville, NB. Today, we learned that Canuck troubadour Wax Mannequin has also been robbed.

Unlike so many other artists who are targeted by thieves while on the road, it doesn't sound as if the songwriter (also known as Chris Adeney) had any of his equipment stolen. In an update on his official website, he revealed that his wallet, tour money and ID were stolen on Wednesday night (July 27) in Calgary.

He wrote, "Help! Since The Burning Hell recently made 'getting robbed' seem like so much fun, I thought I'd try my hand at it... Turns out it's Not Fun after all."

If you're feeling generous and would like to help him out, photographer J B Hildebrand has set up a site where you can make a donation. Adeney is currently in the midst of a cross-Canada tour, so any donations will go towards helping him complete the outing. See the schedule below.
