Watter

"Small Business"

Another sneak preview behind Watter's debut disc This World has arrived, with this latest unveiling being a dramatic, 13-minute post-rock opus called "Small Business."

While we knew that the new project's ranks include former Slint member Britt Walford and Grails' Zak Riles, this particular cut also features some prog-rock royalty in the form of King Crimson bassist Tony Levin. He's only part of the brain-collapsing tapestry heard on the track, though, with a slow and steady build of textured guitar eventually exploding into a mid-section cavalcade of limber-fingered riffs, cannon fire drum work and other assorted sonics. The multi-chambered arrangement jumps through some quiet-loud-quiet dynamics, ushering us out with some lulling drones.

You can hear the epic composition for yourself down below. As previously reported, This World hits retailers May 27 through Temporary Residence Ltd.
