Yacht rock has made something of a comeback in recent years, but there's nothing yacht-friendly about Watershed Hour's rocking Yacht Club EP. The Ontario garage duo are releasing the collection digitally today (May 1) and it's available to stream now.
The Peterborough band features bassist/vocalist Natalie Resimes and drummer Laura Klinduch, and they kick up a grungy racket. All of these tracks sport fuzzy bass aggression and thundering rhythms, although "Froot Loops" and "Guitar Song" begin with clean tones and pattering rhythms. There's a remix of "Froot Loops" (dubbed "No Name Fruit Loops") tacked onto the end, which features electronic rhythms and pitch-shifted vocal weirdness.
