Waterdown

It's not hard to figure out why, after just one listen, Canadian screamo kings Grade were so turned on to this six-piece German band ¾ so much so that they actually brought them to the attention of Victory Records. Like Grade, Waterdown successfully blend driving rock with a melodic, heartfelt emo aesthetic and a hardcore brutality in a bipolar musical melange that would make Quicksand salivate. Anchored by the duelling vocals of singer Marcel and screamer Ingo, Waterdown's sound is alternately one of speed and cut-time groove. An impressive debut.
