Watch the Teaser for Toronto's Death Metal-Themed Web Series 'Boring Girls'

In 2015, ECW Press published Sara Taylor's Boring Girls, a gripping thriller about misogyny in the death metal scene. Now, the novel is being adapted into a web series, and Exclaim! is proud to present the first official taste with an official teaser.

Boring Girls is being adapted by filmmakers Hannah Cheesman and Coral Aiken, who worked with Toronto teen band Hex to bring the story to life.

Cheesman released the following statement about the project:

The world of Boring Girls is rich, raw, and visceral, following two unique young women as they cut their teeth in the male-dominated death metal music scene. Thanks to generous funding from the OMDC, the Boring Girls team (along with DP Catherine Lutes) teamed up with local teen band HEX to realize a startling proof of concept, giving audiences a sneak peek at this little-seen niche world. I am beyond excited to dive into this story and these characters.

The series is set to go into production later this year. Until then, enjoy it's riveting teaser below.
