Arctic Monkeys are currently on tour in North America, and the UK band paid tribute to their idols the Strokes while visiting New York last night (July 24).
A freshly buzzed Alex Turner and co. covered the title track of the Strokes' iconic 2001 album Is This It during their set at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens.
It's not the first time Arctic Monkeys have professed their love for the Julian Casablancas-fronted band, though. The opening line on their latest LP Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino hears Turner sing, "I just wanted to be one of the Strokes, now look at the mess you made me make."
