Jason Sudeikis and his former Ted Lasso co-star Hannah Waddingham transformed into an indie film buff couple at karaoke this weekend, doing their best Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga impressions with a surprise performance of "Shallow."
The duo were in Sudeikis's hometown of Kansas City, MO, for his annual THUNDERGONG! charity benefit show in support of the Steps of Faith Foundation when they took on the ballad. Sudeikis was initially on stage with his former SNL castmate Will Forte.
"There's nobody I would rather sing this song with," he told Forte, before launching into the first verse.
Of course, right as Forte was about to sing Lady Gaga's verse, Waddingham stepped out from backstage in his stead. Her vocal prowess, documented on Ted Lasso with a performance of "Let It Go" from Frozen, took the back seat to her theatrics, as she shoved Forte's face away and confidently stepped to the front of the stage for her verse.
Although Waddingham no doubt stole the show on the duet, Sudeikis — who showed off his versatility with a country take on Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" as Waddingham shaved Ted Lasso co-creator Brendan Hunt's beard later in the night — is no slouch on the mic either.
