Simu Liu: actor, host… country singer?
The Toronto film star is known for playing a superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but lately, he's been proving that he's the whole performing package. In the past month, he's hosted his second straight JUNOs (where he blew an Avril Lavigne medley out of the water), signed a record deal with 88rising and released his debut single.
Now, Liu is showing off his vocal talent once more with his cover of 50 Cent's "In Da Club" on That's My Jam. The new segment of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon recruits different casts of celebrities every week to compete in various musical challenges as pairs.
He was tasked with giving the 50 Cent birthday anthem a country twang as part of the "Musical Genre Challenge" and, somehow, he twanged so well that he has fans calling for a full version.
The next chance to catch Liu on the big screen will come with the movie adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid's One True Loves and the highly-anticipated Barbie movie this summer.
