Watch Perfect Limbs' New Video for Melodic Hardcore Track "Seeking"

Burlington, ON's Perfect Limbs haven't released a song in over a year, and even then it was just a single, not a proper follow-up to 2016's debut EP Tunnel Vision. Now, they're back with the release of a music video for a new track called "Seeking."

After an opening that recalls Counterparts' "Witness," Perfect Limbs step backward to that Hamilton band's The Current Will Carry Us, on which they avoided the breakdowns of metalcore in favour of melodic hardcore melancholy. They don't just copy, though, with a high-energy chorus doused in singing more masterful than most in the genre.

"The song is about putting your entire heart and soul into something you care about more than anything, while simultaneously dealing with a crippling fear that it could all just fail and you're left with nothing," explains frontman Owen Fisher. "It's the first song we've released in over a year and I think it's a perfect first single to really show a more fully rounded sound taking elements that we've had but pushing it further into the direction we want."

You can watch the video, which features a monochromatic live performance spliced with saturated clips of a young boy in nature, down below.
