Watch Not Of Bring Melancholic Nostalgia in New "Tectonic Plates" Video

BY Mark TremblayPublished Jul 19, 2019

Almost a year after their well-received sophomore record Hypocritic Oath, Not Of are returning with a split single release alongside labelmates Cellos

The band's new single, "Tectonic Plates," lands via No List Records, and it arrives with an unnervingly trippy video. The single delivers a melancholic perspective on nostalgia, represented onscreen with a collage of VHS and home video visuals.

As stated in the video itself, "every thought or emotion has a psychosomatic reaction," and yet it still pleads for viewers to "change your mind." Much like the band's music, it takes two opposing things and fuses them together in effortless fashion.

According to a statement from Not Of, the new track "wastes zero time, flinging shit-shaped candy at your speakers like a bonobo with a geology degree and a very important bridge to burn as soon as the song is done."

You can decipher the meaning for yourself by checking out the video for "Tectonic Plates" in the player below.

Single pre-orders are available here. See the band's tour dates below.
