When he's not demolishing your ear drums as the bassist for Winnipeg noisecore trio KEN Mode, Chad Tremblay doubles as a film director. In that life, Tremblay has just completed work on a new film called A Reasonable Man, which loosely follows the lives of Phil Spector, John Lennon and the Pixies.
The film spans 1958 to 1991, and follows the life of Harv Stevens, a record producer based on Phil Spector. He takes advice from John Winston (based on John Lennon), and marries indie queen Karen Down (based on Kim Deal). In other words, it's not exactly factual.
Shot on 16mm film, VHS and digital video, the film offers a stylish variety of looks. After playing in some festivals, it's now available for streaming online, and can be viewed below.
