Neil Young's 1974 album On the Beach stands as one of his most heart-breaking works, so it's no surprise the Canadian songwriting legend doesn't revisit the album often. Last night (July 9), however, Young and Promise of the Real broke out the title track during their concert in Antwerp, Belgium, marking the first time Young has played "On the Beach" with a band in over 40 years.

According to JamBase, Young's performance of "On the Beach" was his first full-band rendition of the song since 1974, meaning it's been 45 years since he played the track live with a band. However, Young did play "On the Beach" solo during a 2003 concert.

Down below, you can watch some fan-captured footage of the "On the Beach" performance.

As previously reported, Young is working on a new album with Crazy Horse that is apparently called Pink Moon. So far, though, release details have yet to be revealed.
