ICYMI Limp Bizkit announced last week that they would be reuniting their original lineup to play a special $3 show in L.A. Well, that concert went down last night (March 5) at the Troubadour, and it was, well, something. And they had some high-profile guests in attendance as well, including Marilyn Manson, Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan and Machine Gun Kelly.
With Fred Durst, Wes Borland, DJ Lethal, John Otto and Sam Rivers all back together, Limp Bizkit brought some serious '90s nostalgia, breaking out tracks from Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water and, of course, Three Dollar Bill, Y'all$. But Limp Bizkit not only did it all for the nookie, they delivered some covers as well.
Most notably, Limp Bizkit were joined by Marilyn Manon to take on the Nirvana classic "Heart-Shaped Box," with Corgan all grooving along, no less. Machine Gun Kelly also helped the band lead a rendition of the Who's "My Generation," while Limp Bizkit made a medley out of songs by Journey, Green Day, Pantera and Metallica (yes, really).
As if that wasn't enough, Limp Bizkit covered the Who's "Behind Blue Eyes," Frank Sinatra's "My Way" and George Michael's "Faith," the latter of which was, of course, also included on Three Dollar Bill, Y'all$.
Since this is the year 2019, there were countless cellphones on hand at the show, and you can watch a bunch of fan-captured footage below, where you'll also find the night's setlist.
For the stans out there, the "original lineup" aspect of the concert turned out to be the return of bassist Sam Rivers. He had taken hiatus from Limp Bizkit since 2015 after being diagnosed with degenerative disease of the discs of the spine.
