Watch James Hetfield Fall Down a Hole During Metallica's Amsterdam Show

Metallica's "WorldWired" tour hasn't been short on surprises both humorous and horrific so far, and the latest happening from the road finds James Hetfield falling through the stage floor during a performance in Amsterdam.

The band played the city's Ziggo Dome last night (September 4), and during a performance of "Now That We're Dead," the stage floor opened up to reveal four video cubes/percussion tables for each member to perform at.

As you can see in the clips below, Hetfield was caught wandering while he lent his rhythm guitar chops to Kirk Hammett's soloing, and ended up falling down one of the openings like Travis Scott before him.

Two stage hands leapt to Hetfield's rescue, who appeared to be none the worse for wear after the incident. Of course, a small tumble down beats the time he got roasted alive by the band's own pyrotechnics.
