With the 2010 FIFA World Cup set to kick off next week, the hype is at a fever pitch, as marketers tap into the worldwide fanaticism that follows the sport. This year's advertisers have really stepped up their game, particularly the three-striped folks at Adidas, with a celebrity-heavy, Star Wars-celebrating ad.
The Adidas ad in question reenacts the classic Star Wars cantina scene from A New Hope, but features some big names edited into the film. Besides footballers David Beckham and Franz Beckenbauer, the clip features music greats like Daft Punk, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Ian Brown and Noel Gallagher.
