Just yesterday (March 30), beloved Canadian collective Broken Social Scene delivered their first new single in seven years with "Halfway Home." Following the track's release, the band appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night to give the song its live debut.

Plenty of the group's cast of revolving players turned up for the performance, including Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, Justin Peroff, Andrew Whiteman, Charles Spearin, Sam Goldberg, Ariel Engel, Metric's Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw, Stars' Amy Millan and Evan Cranley, David French, and Dave Hodge.

Official album details for BSS's upcoming LP have yet to be confirmed, but Drew suggested that the band are aiming for a summer release. In the meantime, their late-night TV should give fans an idea of what to expect when Broken Social Scene once again return to the stage for upcoming festival gigs at Field Trip and Osheaga later this year.
