There's basically no one on the planet better suited to playing a prophetic sorceress in a Scandinavian Viking epic than Björk, and it's borderline criminal that it hadn't happened until this year.
Thankfully, Robert Eggers decided to correct that mistake with The Northman, and now we get our first solid look at Björk as the Seeress before the film arrives on April 22.
In a new clip shared today, Alexander Skarsgård's Amleth encounter's Björk's character in a desolate temple, where she whispers a prophecy and presses a teardrop into his hand. Shit looks intense!
The Northman is Björk's return to the big screen after starring in Lars Von Trier's Dancer in the Dark in 2000, an experience that Björk famously did not enjoy. Hopefully this time around things went a little more smoothly.
The Northman also stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke and Claes Bang.
