Watch Billy Corgan Cover "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus in Toronto

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan brought his grown-up solo material to Toronto this weekend under the guise of William Patrick Corgan.

Despite the fancy new moniker, Corgan showed off his youthful side with an unexpected cover of a Miley Cyrus song. He debuted his own rendition of "Wrecking Ball" onstage at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Friday (October 20), and you can see fan-shot footage of the performance down below  — in between whoops of laughter and shouts of "Billy Ray!"

The man formerly known as Billy has spoken highly of Cyrus in the past, claiming that while he wouldn't want to write a song to be picked over by pop stars, he is open to the idea of writing music with Cyrus because "she is very talented."

Corgan is currently on tour in support of his new solo album Ogilala, and you can see his remaining live dates here. Watch the "Wrecking Ball" clip below.
