There are plenty of chaotic things concurrently happening in the United States right now, and among them is an effort to undermine and possibly eliminate the United States Postal Service. Stepping up in their defence is Ben Gibbard, once the singer of a band called the Postal Service.

The Death Cab for Cutie frontman performed two acoustic songs for the Democratic National Convention, taking on the Death Cab song "Northern Lights" and the Postal Service's "Such Great Heights."

"We made a record using the United States Postal Service and therefore we called ourselves the Postal Service," he said. "So I'm going to play a song by the Postal Service and dedicate it to the Postal Service."

Watch Ben Gibbard perform the two songs below.
