From early jams with Tyler, the Creator to a full-length with Ghostface Killah, BADBADNOTGOOD are no strangers to working with rappers. Over the weekend, the Toronto quartet got to add another esteemed MC to their list of collaborators with Jay Electronica.
The elusive Electronica joined BBNG onstage at Toronto's Massey Hall as part of Red Bull's "3 Days in Toronto" event on Friday (October 20). Alongside a string quartet, BBNG delivered an expert rendition of the four-part instrumental for "Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge)."
"My only prayer tonight was to not come out here and fuck up these guys' beautiful set! I got Lord Finesse praying for me right now in the back," Jay joked in between verses.
Before the fourth and final movement, he gestured to keyboardist Matthew Tavares saying, "I fell in love with this guy tonight, this is my personal Billy Joel."
