The last time Washed Out tried to come to Vancouver, chillwaver Ernest Greene and his cohorts failed to show up for their opening slot with Cut Copy after reportedly being turned away at the border. This fall, Greene will giving it another shot, this time as the opening act for the Shins.
Following some summer tour dates in the U.S., Washed Out will link up with the Shins as the opener for their previously announced tour. The relatively short West Coast leg, which lasts from late September to early October, includes a Vancouver show at the Orpheum Theatre. See the schedule below.
Before then, look for Washed Out to release a video for the track "A Dedication" from last year's Within and Without. The David Yoonha Park-directed clip will arrive later this summer. Greene also contributed a cover of "Straight Back" for the Fleetwood Mac tribute album Just Tell Me That You Want Me, due out August 14 through Hear Music/Concord Music Group.
