Warped Tour Announces 2018 Will Be Its Final Year

Canadian Warped Tour fans were celebrating earlier this year upon getting news that Toronto was included on the travelling fest's itinerary this year, but organizers have now revealed that the event will end after 24 years.

As tour founder Kevin Lyman revealed in a statement, the 2018 edition of Warped Tour will be the event's last cross-country run. As Billboard reports, Lyman made the decision considering "numerous factors — including an evolving summer festival industry, a shrinking pool of bands, and declining ticket sales amongst its teenage demographic."

Lynman wrote in a statement, "I have been a very lucky person to have travelled across the country and sometimes around the world as one of the founders and producers of the Vans Warped Tour. Today, with many mixed feelings, I am here to announce that next year will be the final, full cross-country run of the Vans Warped Tour."

Lyman noted that organizers have begun preparation for a 25th anniversary celebration of the tour in 2019. You can read his full statement here.

While the lineup for the 2018 festival has not been announced, a complete itinerary is available here. You can also help choose which bands will appear on the coming summer's lineup.
