Long-running travelling punk show the Warped Tour announced its 2012 schedule last October, but back then, the summer showcase's roster was still TBA. Well, the first five acts have now been announced, and they may or may not dissuade you from going altogether.
Seemingly, the most high-profile act that will take stages across North America, including Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal, is veteran Queens-based band Bayside. Also appearing will be metalcore outfit Chelsea Grin and screamo act Memphis May Fire, as well as heavy-handed popsters Sleeping With Sirens and the Silver Comet.
So far no word on any punkier fest veterans like NOFX signing on for the summer series, but no doubt several more acts, playing both main stages and energy drink-sponsored risers near the hot dog stands, will be rolled out in the months to come.
