Last year, Toronto, ON's the Warped 45s announced plans to record at Green Door Studios with John Critchley, the producer behind albums by the likes of Dan Mangan and Elliott Brood. The band have come out of these sessions with a new album, Matador Sunset, which will be coming out on May 31 via Pheromone.
There's currently no tracklist out there yet, but you can stream and download the single "Grampa Carl" below. It begins with a spoken word intro about a Prohibition rum-runner before turning into a drawling, gritty roots rocker. Once the album is out, Warped 45s will tour across Canada this summer. They will be starting off in Ontario before heading west for a slew of dates in BC and throughout the Prairies. See the schedule below.
