Wanda Jackson first launched her music career in the mid-'50s, but the Queen of Rockabilly is in the midst of a resurgence thanks in part to her recent work with garage rock guru Jack White. Back in January, she released The Party Ain't Over through Nonesuch and White's own Third Man Records. Now, she's supporting the album with a lengthy North American tour.
The massive outing will last from late April all the way until August. It includes a slew of Canadian shows, including stops in Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City and Edmonton. Most of these are festival dates, while the Vancouver gig is one of nine opening slots for British cahrt-topper Adele.
It's interesting to note that Jackson is more than three times Adele's senior (73 years old compared to 22). Jackson said in a press release, "I was thrilled to learn that my music has been an influence on such a talent as Adele. I am looking forward to the concert tour with her. We're gonna have a party!"
