Waka Flocka Flame Vows That He's Quitting the Rap Biz

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 8, 2011

While earlier this week it was announced that the Waka Flocka Flame/Gucci Mane project, the Ferrari Boyz, would finally be dropping later this summer, don't expect much more coming from Flockaveli in the future. The rapper has announced he's retiring from the rap game.

A tweet from the hip-hop MC earlier this week hinted at his unhappiness with the biz, as the rapper claimed, "This game 2 fake i quite [sic] rap this year."

While the specifics weren't initially delivered, Waka Flocka's mom/manager Debra Atney confirmed to Rumour Fix that her son was leaving his career behind. "He talking about quitting. He's sick of this. We all are," she said, adding that the pair were ready to work on their family bond rather than some new music. "We're all disgusted with this stuff. You can't trust people."

Speaking with Atlanta radio show Ryan Cameron, Waka later confirmed that he's bailing on the biz because of the phonies. Dude's got no time for the two-faces.

"I'm tired of going through what I go through, and punk asses always rain on my world. There's so much different haters, fake smiles, different hugs," he admitted. "I'd rather work at Walmart than rap, and that's my word on god. Yup, I put that on Jesus Christ. I'm not lying or nothing."

You can listen to the while interview below.

While artist retirements can hardly be taken seriously at this point (see Jay-Z and M.I.A.), here's hoping Waka Flocka Flame finds a bit of happiness before his inevitable return.
