Wade MacNeil's Black Lungs Return with Surprise Album

Wade MacNeil's Black Lungs Return with Surprise Album
While Wade MacNeil has spent the last few years focused on fronting Gallows and maintaining a very confusing schedule with Alexisonfire, the Canadian punk guy has just announced the return of his Black Lungs project. A surprise LP called Pagan Holiday drops at midnight tonight (October 30).

A press release sent out today confirms that Dine Alone delivers Black Lungs' 13-song sophomore album digitally at the stroke of midnight over on MacNeil's website. From there, you can download the collection for free for the next two weeks. A vinyl release is forthcoming, and will be served up in a limited-edition pressing of 400. It can be obtained on its own or packaged in a bundle along with a bonus 7-inch. Pre-orders will go up later today here on the Dine Alone webstore.

Though a 7-inch had been issued in 2010, Pagan Holiday is the proper follow-up to Black Lungs' 2008's debut release, Send Flowers. According to MacNeil, the tracks were recorded about four years ago, and he's happy to finally have them go live to the public.

"All of best things in my life are intertwined with Black Lungs," he said in a statement. "I met my wife after one of our shows, almost all of my closest friends have played in the band at some point, and the tours I've done with this band are some of my favourite memories of being on the road. Four years ago I made this record with a few of my buddies (Phil Waring, George Clark & Pat Mathers). I hope you enjoy it."

While you'll have to wait a few hours to hear Pagan Holiday, you'll find the tracklist info down below. Though it's yet to be confirmed, it's possible that closing track "For the Love of Ivy" is a Gun Club cover. It wouldn't be the first time a Canadian punk band tackled the track.

Also of note, Gallows posted a cryptic preview today. Though it's unclear exactly what's going on, a Facebook post from the hardcore act suggest that something will be announced Monday (November 2) at 10 a.m.

The post is a picture of a lit candle. You can try to solve the mystery by staring at the pic over here.
