Published Sep 28, 2007From West Chicago comes Vyle, an MC/producer who loves to reminisce about the '80s and dance to electro house as much as any hot producer in the Ed Banger crew. Check his credentials on MySpace and you'll see that he's run with everyone from Flosstradamus and A-Trak to Teki Latex (TTC) and Eliot Lipp, with whom he's formed the group Neonstriderbitrate. Having already collaborated with Uffie on the rather sweet but no less spiteful remix of "First Love," perhaps his finest moment yet is joining producer Mano for this Jacko throwback. Taking the King of Pop's timeless classic and using only the tiniest traces of it, Vyle and Mano cruise the streets of what sounds like Miami in what feels like a Testarossa. The smoothness of the soft rock synths are retro hipness at its freshest, and Vyle's rhymes poke fun at the timeless video's setting and line-dance routine with impenetrable swagger.
Don't miss Vyle's gob on the latest Gun$'N'Bomb$ mix-tape (also featuring the Teenagers, the Futureheads, MSTRKRFT and Does It Offend You, Yeah?), which you can hear here.
