California ska punks Voodoo Glow Skulls stopped at Supercrawl last night (September 8) in the midst of a stretch of North American dates, infecting the Hamilton crowd with their exuberant stage presence and frenetic sound.

Together for nearly 30 years, the group have used that time to craft a dynamic live show. Even when now-former frontman Frank Casillas suddenly retired earlier on during this tour, it didn't seem to throw a wrench into the band's plans. Recently recruited Death by Stereo frontman Efrem Schulz delivered a memorable, high energy performance, effortlessly filling any void left.

Waving a flag emblazoned with the lyrics "Who do voo doo / We do / Fuck you," Schulz lead both his new bandmates and showgoers through a spirited performance of "Voodoo Anthem." While a mother and child ignored the expletives and happily danced together on one end of the crowd, seasoned ska fans rowdily moshed on the other. No matter who you are, Voodoo Glow Skulls will find a way to appeal.
