American group Voight-Kampff started as a cross-country collaboration between members of prominent hardcore bands who wanted to try something a little weirder. Now, years after they began, they've released their first album on Deranged Records.
Voight-Kampff is a seven-song collection that sees the band exploring doomy, murky, melodic post-punk not unlike Criminal Code or the Red Dons. The guitar runs are fascinating, the music is moody and there's still plenty of attitude.
