Vivian Girls Re-release Debut On In the Red, Tour North America

L.A. garage punk imprint In the Red has built a solid reputation over the years for introducing the world to amazing bands that blow up and move on to bigger labels. This happened with Jay Reatard and the Ponys, who both wound up on Matador, and the Black Lips and King Khan, who signed with Vice.

For NYC all-girl garage pop trio Vivian Girls, however, signing with In the Red was their goal after riding a wave of hype. Comprised of Cassie Ramone, Miss Frankie Rose and Kickball Katy, the band have stirred the pot with their highly melodic but raw pop tunes. So much so that their debut self-titled full-length instantly sold out, and now attracts bids for $100 on eBay. Not for long, though, as In the Red will reissue the record on CD and LP in October.

In the meantime, the band will be joining fellow garage pop clan Crystal Stilts on a spree of North American tour dates, including Canadian dates in Montreal and Toronto. You can also look for the Girls singing back-up vocals on Fucked Up’s upcoming The Chemistry of Common Life.
