Vivian Girls' Cassie Ramone Announces Debut Solo LP, Gets Ariel Pink to Guest

Following their official disbandment earlier this year, the members of Vivian Girls have had plenty to work on. Bassist Katy Goodman has La Sera, drummer Ali Koehler has Upset and singer-guitarist Cassie Ramone plays in the Babies. That's not all, however, as Ramone has also announced her debut solo album.

The release is called The Time Has Come and features eight songs from Ramone. A press release says that the record "has a somewhat contemporary take on what a modern Karen Dalton record may sound like."

Though it's Ramone's first solo LP, she's not entirely alone. Several tracks on the record feature Ariel Pink on bass.

Pink offered a straightforward, factual quote in the press release, saying, "This is Cassie's first record. She used to sing and play guitar in the Vivian Girls. She recorded these songs by herself over the last year or so. She hopes you like the record. Goodbye."

Loglady Records will issue The Time Has Come on August 26. The album can be pre-ordered here, and a track from the release is expected to hit the web later this week.
