As previously reported, Irish unit Villagers are dropping their sophomore LP {Awayland} through Domino next year, and already we've got a sample of the goods via album track "Nothing Arrived." Songwriter Conor J. O'Brien must be feeling generous, though, as he's offered up another video clip for the digital pop journey "The Waves."
The track finds the outfit exploring outside of their regular folky territory and features a clicky computer beat driving its front half. This matches the video, which shows O'Brien coming in and out of focus in the eyeball of some digitized being. As the song builds, organic flourishes of piano and horns swell into the song, while a smorgasbord of neon eye candy scrolls past the screen.
