While often found slingin' punk licks and slacker screams as the frontman of long-running Vancouver trio Slow Learners, John Johnston is now pulling double duty with a new band called Viewmaster. The outfit's three-song introduction, Demonstration, is online now.
Johnston still delivers numb-tongue cries on opening number "Self Preservation," but the track channels post-punk with its chilly, chorus pedal-smeared guitar lines and dancey beats. "Pull" has a Slow Learners feel, while "Always" is a piece rife with wildly trilled leads and melodic finale.
