After bringing the likes of Brian Wilson, Social Distortion and X Ambassadors to Vancouver Island last year, organizers behind British Columbia's Rock the Shores festival have announced the event will not return in 2019.

"We have made the difficult decision to not proceed with Rock the Shores in 2019," organizers of the Colwood, BC, festival wrote in a statement on Twitter. "It has been an amazing run and we will miss it this summer. To everyone who has participated over the years on both sides of the stage, thank you!"

A separate statement shared on Facebook reads, "We aren't certain what the future holds for this event as it will depend on business conditions and talent availabilities in our region."

The festival previously took a hiatus in 2017.

Rock the Shores' 2018 lineup also included the Sheepdogs, Bahamas, Corb Lund, Dear Rouge, Beoudin Soundlcash and more.
