Victoria Psych-Pop Space Cadets Vincat Ready Hoi Polloi Full-Length, Cross-Canada Tour

Victoria-based psychedelic pop act Vincat seem to have a good handle on themselves. On their MySpace page, they describe their sound as "A barn in the rain with a fire outside and cute animals making noises," and frankly, if you add some hyper-ethereal pop vocals and jagged guitar lines, you've got them pegged.

The best part of the description is that they're not even lying. Vincat's upcoming full-length LP Hoi Polloi was literally recorded in a barn in the British Columbian woods in December 2006 with producer Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Destroyer, No Kids), and finally mixed in 2007 at his Hive studios. Now, after a bit of delay, the record is finally set for release on September 8.

Along the way somewhere, the band also wrote two of their space-themed trilogy albums, Inner Space and Earthly Rotations, just to keep themselves creatively busy.

To celebrate the release of Hoi Polloi, from September 25 to October 15, Vincat will begin to tour their way towards Montreal. And while not all the dates have yet to be finalized, here is the initial batch:
