Vertical After

Bloody Murdo

BY Greg PrattPublished Mar 1, 2002

That nasty cover art isn't going to reel anyone in, nor is the demo-quality layout, which is riddled with typos and inane lyrics. Actually, neither is the music: a brutal blend of funky rock, goofy punk rock, bad metal and ugly post-grunge. It's a prime example of in-joke CDR material made to give to your buddies, but why mass produce this and expect people to buy it? Nevertheless, you must give Vancouver's Vertical After credit for being a hardworking and persistent bunch of nutballs. The jazz instrumental that ends the disc steals the show.
