VAV Jungle Cream Corn Bath

VAV Jungle display a refreshing disregard for established genres on Cream Corn Bath, and have a lot of fun doing it. "Someirs” is a good example of this — it combines the annoying bass drum "pop” of 1001 aerobic mix tapes, with a live bass line and vocals that are sung in a near monotone à la Miss Kitten. And that’s only track one. Over the next ten, many other sound forms are bashed together, with and without success. Disco, electro, folk, samba and indie rock are just a few of the influences that are assimilated. Overall, it’s a mad sampler-driven assault that has resulted in a refreshing, light-hearted album. Purists affiliated with any genre will certainly disagree. (Independent)
