Various Ragazza Pop

Accumulated by the first all-x chromosome global record label, Ragazza Pop (a subsidiary of the Italian SHADO Records), this 23-track compilation features some of today’s most exciting female-fronted indie pop acts. While most artists are relative unknowns, there is plenty of entertaining candy-coated pop music to be heard in German, Japanese, French and English. There are some familiar indie names such as the Ladybug Transistor with "Her Words Hang In The Air,” the Aislers Set and their rare "Hey Lover,” and April March produced by Bertrand Burgalat on "Mon Ange Gardien.” The biggest treat, however, comes from former Velvet Underground drummer Moe Tucker, who delivers three tracks, including spellbinding versions of the classics "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and "To Know Him Is To Love Him.” An interesting new approach to releasing international records, Ragazza Pop certainly has a winner on its hands with this diverse collection of very interesting pop music.
