"Other People's Imaginary Feast" (ft. Nicolas Jaar, William Basinski, Julia Holter)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 20, 2015

Sensory Percussion is a tool that uses acoustic drums to trigger digital samples, and as this new product seeks funding through Kickstarter, Nicolas Jaar has assembled a star-studded musical piece that utilizes Sensory Percussion's technology.

The piece is called "Other People's Imaginary Feast," and it features Jaar, William Basinski, Julia Holter, Dave Harrington (of Darkside), High Water, Jeremy Hyman (of Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks), Eric Cha-Beach (of SŌ Percussion) and more. It was created by artists creating short sound samples, which were then played by drummers using Sensory Percussion.

Preview the spooky, abstract "Other People's Imaginary Feast" in the trailer below. The full piece can be heard at Jaar's Other People label website.

Sensory Percussion was created by Jaar's collaborator Tlacael Esparza. Learn about it over on Kickstarter.
