Various Give ‘Em the Boot IV

Hellcat Records continues it’s winning streak of releasing varied and consistently good compilations with this fourth instalment of the Give ‘Em the Boot series. Kicking things off is an unreleased Rancid song, "Killing Zone,” which is likely better than much of their currently released material. What follows is a fantastic mix of ska, rockabilly, crust punk, and good old fashioned rock’n’roll. Standouts here include Joe Strummer’s tip of the hat to his own band with an excellent live cover of "Junco Partner,” Die Hunn’s unreleased scorcher "Marshall Law,” and the always reliable Dropkick Murphys’ "I’m Shipping Up To Boston.” The only real let down here is a Transplants remix that succeeds in making the band sound like a second-rate Limp Bizkit cover troupe.
