Apocalypse Always

BY Shawn MerrillPublished Jul 1, 2002

One cannot expect the world on a bargain-basement label sampler, nor does one often get it, and that primarily sums up Apocalypse Always. With 26 tracks in all, the only standouts include the commentary by Jello Biafra (speaking about the Ramones), Mumia Abu-Jamal, Noam Chomsky and the songs by MIA, the Fartz, the Flaming Stars, the Fleshies, D.O.A. and the Causey Way. It's not exactly another throwaway label sampler, and, with an eclectic mix of music and spoken word, it would make for an interesting listen during any bar mitzvah.
