'Merry Indie Xmas' (ft. Christmas covers by the fake Interpol, Beach House, the National) (album stream)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 21, 2012

Countless artists jump in on the holiday album racket, with this year's batch including the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Tracey Thorn and Cee Lo. A number of celebrated indie acts have also apparently got in on the action, too, but only via the doubly mocking Merry Indie Xmas. The fake comp was whipped up by Brooklyn dude Adam Horne of Bear Ceuse, and it finds him appropriating the styles of acts like the XX and Beach House for some quickie Christmas covers.

Here you'll find Horne's dark and dreary faux-Interpol interpretation of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," a snot-nosed, in-the-red "Jingle Bells" as Wavves, and a slit-your-wrists take on "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" performed using the moody tricks of the National.
