Vancouver's the Washboard Union Reveal Debut LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 7, 2012

The Washboard Union are relative newcomers to the world of Canadian country music, but that didn't stop the Vancouver collective from recruiting some high-profile help for their debut album, which drops on June 26.

The bulk of the twelve-track self-titled collection was produced by Garth Richardson (the son of recently deceased producer Jack Richardson), who has previously worked with the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine and L7. One song, "Half Cree," was also helmed by iconic producer Bob Ezrin, a Canadian Music Hall of Famer who has worked with Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, Kiss and Alice Cooper.

The album looks to showcase the band's backwoods-y sound with banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar and -- you guessed it -- washboard. Check out the tracklist below, and scroll past that to see the band's upcoming live schedule.

Although the album isn't due for over a month, the Washboard Union are offering up a stream of the entire thing right now, so whet your appetite for the official release down at the bottom of the page.
