Published Jul 12, 2012Last year, the Vancouver-based Olio Festival balanced a lineup of acts plucked from the city's local scene and from abroad, and this year will be no different. Organizers have just revealed the first wave of acts attached to the fourth annual edition, running September 19 to 23, and it thinks both globally and locally.
Some of the bigger out-of-towners set to appear so far include East Coast indie folk great Julie Doiron, as well as Chicago progressive house unit Flosstradamus and L.A. moombahton mover Dillon Francis. While show specifics have yet to appear, the fest will also bring in Shout Out Out Out Out, Brasstronaut, Eight and a Half, and more.
B.C.-based acts set to play Olio this year include electro dude Teen Daze, folkish Light Organ signees Twin River and Victoria's Gold & Youth, among others.
More info on the event, from the musical lineup to info on the art, comedy, and film components of Olio, are expected to be revealed tonight (July 12) by organizers at a screening of skateboard flick Hicks on Stick at Vancouver's Rio Theatre.
