Vancouver's Music Waste and Olio Festival Bring Out Poirier, Bonjay, Babe Rainbow for SXSW Showcase

Music Waste and Olio Festival are two of the major events on the Vancouver music calendar. Now, the festivals are going international, as they're teaming up for a SXSW showcase that will feature some of Canada's finest forward-thinking acts.

The show will take place on March 19 at the Soho Lounge in Austin, TX. The event, which, for the purposes of full disclosure, is being co-sponsored by Exclaim!, is heavy on Vancouver artists, as it features No Gold, Babe Rainbow, Teen Daze, Basketball and DJ My!Gay!Husband! The bill is rounded out by Montreal-based beat-maker (and former Exclaim! cover star) Poirier and Toronto R&B popsmiths Bonjay.

According to a press release, the show "highlights the next crop of up-and-coming Canadian talent." So don't be too surprised if these artists get their own headlining slots in future instalments of SXSW.

Head to SXSW's website to check out the schedule.
