Published May 16, 2011Now in its 17th year, Vancouver's Music Waste Festival continues to inspire with its sprawling lineup and dedication to independent music. While many festivals boast big names and high ticket prices, Music Waste sticks to promoting the best in local punk, noise, indie and other DIY acts in Vancouver for an insanely low price.
This year's edition of the fest looks to continue that long tradition. Running from June 1 to June 5, Music Waste 2011 promises over 110 bands, as well as daytime art shows, comedy showcases and BBQs. On top of that, the festival also includes Go Your Own Waste, an invitation for artists to book their own shows that coincide with the festival.
The full festival lineup and performance schedule can be viewed here. Within that list you will find some of Vancouver's most exciting acts, including No Gold, Defektors, Fine Mist, B-Lines, Teen Daze, Chains of Love, Apollo Ghosts and many, many others.
Passes for the entire festival are on sale now for a mere $15 and can be purchased at Neptoon Records, Red Cat, Zulu and Scratch. More information on Music Waste can be found here.
