Vancouver's Fanshaw Signs to Mint Records

Vancouver indie rock institution Mint Records has announced a new signing, and the label has decided to stay within the family. More specifically, the imprint has signed Fanshaw, which is the solo project of Olivia Fetherstonhaugh, who formerly worked with Mint band the Choir Practice.

Fetherstonhaugh has already recorded a debut record called Dark Eyes. For that, she recruited members of the Choir Practice, P:ano and Victoria, Victoria to help her out. Of course, the writing process wasn't rushed. As her press release states, "Fetherstonhaugh has taken her time with her own music, spending upwards of an entire year writing a song."

Mint will be releasing Dark Eyes on February 9. Three songs from the record are now streaming on Fanshaw's MySpace page.
