Vancouver Punk/Metal Label Defiled Under Music Launches with Angry's 'Wild Ox Shangri-La'

Vancouver's File Under: Music has been making a name for itself over the last few years, and now the folk- and rock-oriented label is venturing into more heavy territory with the new sub-label Defiled Under Music. The imprint's first release will be Wild Ox Shangri-La by Vancouver noise lovers Angry. It comes out on November 13.

A press release promises influences that range from noise rock to post-hardcore and vintage fuzz rock. With "wild tempos and time signatures" combined with frontman Heath Fenton's vocal cord-punishing growls, this is a major departure from what we're used to hearing from the File Under: Music family.

Angry features members of Vancouver acts Jakartah and Last Plague. The nine rage- filled tracks that make up their debut album were captured by Stu McKillop at Raincity Recorders. The results will be available on CD, LP or digital download.

And while the album won't be until next month, you can already stream the entire thing below.

Shortly after Wild Ox Shangri-La arrives in stores, Angry will play a release show at Vancouver's Interurban Gallery on November 16. Fans should expect a "purposely revolting" gig featuring Fenton "spitting beer into the air and flashing his sweaty, hairy belly at the crowd every chance he gets."

We can expect more release from Defiled Under Music in the coming months.
